Daniel Humair (drums), Heiri Känzig (bass), Samuel Blaser (trombone)
Our Way is the second album from Helveticus, the trio of drummer Daniel Humair, bassist Heiri Känzig, and trombonist Samuel Blaser. Three generations, three Swiss cities, one conversation: the group navigates thirteen pieces spanning Thelonious Monk and Duke Ellington, Swiss folk melodies, and original compositions, all given wholly personal readings. Their first album 1291 established the concept; Our Way deepens it, the result of musicians who have spent enough time together to interact with genuine spontaneity. As Manfred Papst wrote, they carry us along on their flying carpet into the unknown.
